9:21 p.m. : Donations can change the future of children, like that of Jules, six years old, suffering from a rare neuromuscular disease. At birth, Jules is hypotonic and must be intubated. Doctors tell his parents a life expectancy of a year or two. “Jules was a little boy deprived of his body, completely passive, he couldn’t hold his head, he couldn’t speak, he couldn’t eat.”, remembers Anaïs Langlais, his mother. In January 2020, he joined a clinical trial and received the injection that will change his life. In fifteen days, he begins to sit, then speaks.

6:13 p.m. : The 2022 edition of the Telethon begins tonight. “More than 13,000 municipalities mobilized, it’s absolutely incredible (…) this united momentum, to be all together like that, I find it great”said Kev Adams on the set of the “13 Hours” of France 2.

11:45 a.m. : The Telethon has revolutionized the treatment of infantile spinal muscular atrophy. For three years, children with this rare disease, which weakens the respiratory system and motor skills, can be treated from birth. Gene therapy was funded through donations. Franceinfo met two families who were able to benefit from it.
