The 31 PROJECT gallery in Paris offers a dialogue between the artists Aviwe Plaatjie and Willow Evann

The exhibition “Induku Entle Ikhiwa Ezizweni, The Radiance of Elsewhere” presents the public with a conversation around the representation of the black figure.

Proposed by the 31 PROJECT gallery and visible until March 5, 2022 in Paris, the exhibition of works by artists Aviwe Plaatjie and Willow Evann opens a dialogue around their common research on the representation of the black figure.

The title of the exhibition Induku Entle Ikhiwa Ezizweni, The Radiance of Elsewhere is inspired by a Xhosa proverb, an ethnic group from South Africa, which celebrates the mixing of cultures and evokes the beauty of the distant, that shaped outside our territories of origin.
