At the end of 2021, the organizing committee of the 2024 Olympic Games contacted the Rouen-based company to an order of 600 pairs for their employees. After agreeing on the look, the price and the choices offered to employees for the personalization of their pair, they made the news official in early 2022.
The 600 pairs will not be painted individually by hand, as is usually the case, but with a stencil to be able to respond quickly to the order. Employees can choose between the Olympic or Paralympic logo, who will be on the heel and for the color, it will be black or gold.
A student project turned into a business
La Belle Sneaker was originally a simple school project intended to prove that they could set up a viable business. But Maxime Lamboy and Jeremy Harvard decided to continue the adventure following the craze for The Beautiful Sneaker.
They started from a simple observation: people love to personalize their things… But everyone wears the same sneakers. So why not give them the opportunity to customize their Stan Smith or Air Force One?
They see themselves as shoe tattoo artists : customers arrive with an idea, Maxime and Jeremy offer them a pattern… And off we go!
“We made a lot of dogs! It always amuses us”
Armed with brushes and special paints for leather, they strip the protective varnish from sneakers and hand paint the chosen pattern : cherry blossoms, portraits of Darth Vader, famous rappers… or dogs! The possibilities are limitless.
Between three and four o’clock are necessary to each pair. For a customization it is necessary to count between 50 and 250 euros and you can bring your own pair or buy it directly through La Belle Sneaker.
