The 2024 edition of the Champions Trophy, which pits the French champion against the winner of the Coupe de France, will be held in China in Beijing, the Sports management of Radio France learned on Wednesday May 15 from a source close to the League professional football (LFP), confirming information of The Team. The date has not yet been defined, but the meeting will take place between August 8 and 11. Ligue 1 will resume on the weekend of August 16.
The city of Beijing, which already hosted the event in 2014, was chosen to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of Franco-Chinese diplomatic relations. The date will be set and validated at the next LFP board of directors, on June 5.
The Champions Trophy pits the winner of the championship – Paris Saint-Germain this season – against that of the Coupe de France. If PSG wins the Coupe de France on May 25 against Olympique Lyonnais, it is the second in Ligue 1, AS Monaco, which will participate in the Champions Trophy.
