“Poland and Slovenia will co-host the 2022 Men’s World Championship, with other European nations potentially joining later,” FIVB says in a statement. The dates of the competition, initially scheduled between August 26 and September 11, have not been confirmed.
She also indicated that Ukraine would replace Russia in the tournament based on their world ranking, “highest among unqualified nations”. Russia, Olympic vice-champion last summer in Tokyo, had been excluded from the 2022 World Cup by the FIVB, which had followed the example of other international federations. In February, the France team announced that it would boycott the competition if it remained organized by Russia.
