Like every year, Soulac begins the month of June (June 3 – 4 and 5) with an extraordinary event. The town plunges back more than a century to live as in the early years of the 20th century. For the 19th edition of “Soulac 1900” we bring out the period costumes to stroll through the streets and discover the seaside town dramatized in a 1900 style in the middle of old cars, fairgrounds or horse-drawn carriage rides. You will also discover the flavors and smells of yesteryear thanks to the market. This year will be a high-flying year since the chosen theme is the circus. 70 circus artists and 200 musicians are therefore mobilized to accompany you throughout the weekend. Moreover, on Thursday evening, for the inaugural evening, you will be amazed thanks to the company TAP FACTORY. A show mixing tap dancing, percussion and urban dance at the Soulac sur mer convention center (price between 25 and 40€ per seat).
- Going away for the weekend by steam train
If you feel like traveling back in time, you can go to Soulac aboard a real steam train departing from Bordeaux’s St Jean station on Saturday June 4 for a return the next day. You will cross the Médoc to the sounds of the whistle and the rolling of the train, all in a musical atmosphere of course. A 4-hour journey to discover the communes, the countryside and the Médoc vineyards with a drink of friendship along the way at Pauillac station.

France Bleu Gironde will make you live this event live. Olivier Cabrolier, our city walker, will be in the steam train from St Jean station. And then a special Saturday June 4 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with Isabelle Wagner.
