I wonder if we shouldn’t also point out the fact that the New Democratic Party (NDP) has its share of the responsibility for the fact that Canada is dragging its feet, because it was this party that insisted on obtaining $7 billion for dental care at the start of the war in Ukraine, when it was already very clear that the conflict might spread and one day threaten Canada more directly, and that it was not with toothbrushes that we will be able to protect our population from bombardments […].
The amount claimed by the NDP for dental care was as large as that which was then allocated to the increase in the defense budget; I have nothing against helping people to pay for care, but for that to be of any use, we must first find the means to protect the population and keep people alive in case of attack. […]
It is high time to react and do everything possible to put the country in a position to be able to protect people, because the window of time we have to make these preparations is closing very quickly. […]
