With its 15 million cats and 7.5 million dogs, France is the European champion in the number of domestic animals. On June 8, “Special Envoy” dedicates a number to them. But some go very far in the love they have for their four-legged friend…

Malka is a shih-tzu poodle, adopted eight years ago. The little dog had been mistreated by her previous owners, so Mélanie made it her mission to make her forget this ordeal. The animal is at the center of all the attention of this young bride who does not yet have a child. His poodle has a plaid in his effigy, his photo hangs on the wall of the room, and even on his mistress’s pajamas. Malka has a special dressing room where are collected “his toys, his sweaters, his coats, his little shampoos, little care for his bath, etc.”.

The day of filming “Special Envoy” was also the day of the star’s monthly relaxation session. To start, a marine mud wrap. “A treatment of comfort and well-being, which will recharge it with trace elements”, boasts the masseuse. A thalasso for animals, at home… and at 80 euros per half hour. For her Malka, Mélanie spends up to 350 euros per month, not including veterinary costs, in “services that will approach the quality that we seek for humans, as if we were taking care of a child or a person who cannot even speak”.

“She’s my baby”, “This is the couple’s first child”

Mélanie would she be a little crazy… about her dog? She openly admits: “There is nothing too beautiful” for his animal, in return for “unfailing, endless love” that he brings her. “She’s my daughter! Quite simply.” And it’s not Adam, her American husband, who will reason with her: he rushes to his “baby” on his way home from work. At dinner time, the menu is neat: chicken bought from the butcher, organic vegetables… but again, it’s for Malka.

Excerpt from “Très dear animals”, to see in “La special d’Envoyé” on June 8, 2023.
