TGV traffic at Montparnasse station in Paris severely disrupted due to fire near the tracks in Eure-et-Loir

Traffic on the high-speed line between Paris Montparnasse and the west of France was cut off in both directions on Friday morning, July 26, France Bleu Maine learned from the SNCF. This follows a fire that broke out near the tracks of the high-speed line in the Courtalain sector (Eure-et-Loir), the railway company told Agence Radio France.

Firefighters are currently working on the fire, but SNCF does not yet know when traffic will resume and fears that disruptions will continue during the day. Due to the fire, TGV trains are being diverted to conventional lines, which will lengthen journeys, the railway company said.

For example, delays of at least half an hour are recorded on TGV trains departing from Paris and heading to Bordeaux, Toulouse or La Rochelle, according to the Montparnasse station website. Delays of 30 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes are also noted for TGV trains coming from Nantes, Rennes or Tours and heading to Paris Montparnasse.
