TGV and TER train traffic south of Bordeaux (Gironde) resumed “gradually” Wednesday, August 3. The circulation of seven trains on the Bordeaux-Hendaye and Bordeaux-Dax-Tarbes lines was interrupted Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., after a fire near the tracks in the town of Laluque, about twenty kilometers north of Dax. SNCF plans a return to normal “before the end of the morning”.

The fire, which destroyed 32 hectares of pine trees, was fixed overnight. At the height of the intervention, this fire mobilized two Canadair, a Dash plane, nearly 170 firefighters and a dozen gendarmes, according to the prefecture. The Landes department went into red vigilance on Wednesday (level 4 out of 5) for the risk of forest fires, as did Lot-et-Garonne and Gironde.
