Frankly, I can’t stand your shit Covid !!”, tweeted the Avignon resident.
Benoît Paire, 46th player in the world, had in particular already tested positive during the US Open 2020, which had resulted in a forced quarantine of several days in New York, then again a few weeks later at the Hamburg tournament.
This new contamination seriously calls into question its preparation for the Australian Open which will be held from January 17 to 30. Especially since mentally, the French are not at their best. “How am I? Because of the Covid, I have a runny nose, but because of all these quarantines spent in a room on the other side of the world, I don’t feel very well in my head”, writes Benoît Paire. “Last year was tough and this year starts off the same way”, he continues, before addressing the tennis authorities: “@ATPTour you defend how the players in my case?”
