Chevrolet Camaro
Price: starting at $40,299
This sixth (and final) generation of the Camaro was praised by critics. It received a more reserved reception from the public who generally preferred the Mustang mainly because of its lower initial price. Dynamically, the Camaro has no lessons to learn from its Ford rival. It features an architecture (code name Alpha) originally designed by Cadillac (ATS and CTS) which displays an almost perfect distribution of masses between the running gear and a judicious choice of alloys to contain the weight of the car. In fact, regardless of the version, the Camaro currently represents the best deal to be had in its category. And the ZL1 (650 hp) remains the most endearing of this sibling.
Dodge Challenger
Price: starting at $40,860
Last call. In a few weeks, the Challenger will leave the assembly line for good. There will be no 2024 model, but Dodge will still have sufficient inventory to offer consumers a brand new 2023 Challenger until next spring, it is said. The Challenger is undoubtedly the one which testifies the most fidelity to the spirit of muscle cars from the 1960s and 1970s. That is to say, a car that is very fast in a straight line, but clumsy in curves. The Challenger is old school and offers an atypical driving experience. A real time machine. Rather massive, the Challenger has, unlike the Camaro and Mustang, the advantage of offering spacious rear seats (for a coupe, that is) and a trunk capable of swallowing a good quantity of grocery bags.
