“terrorized”, deputies “Together!” want to be received at the Elysée

When it is necessary to reassure, it is that there are concerns. What are the president’s plans? Does he really think he can govern by seeking, voice by voice, according to the texts, the majority he lacks? Does he gain time before an irremediable dissolution? “Everyone is terrified,” slips a member of the Ile-de-France. “Those who were elected by a few votes fear dissolution”details a member of parliament, who was largely re-elected, when one of her colleagues from the En Marche group described a “loss of bearings“.

In question: the link with the Elysee has been stretched since the departures of Richard Ferrand and Christophe Castaner. The two were the spokespersons for the presidential speech at the Palais Bourbon. And helped to understand and clarify Emmanuel Macron’s strategy. The two no longer sit. Hence the invitation to Emmanuel Macron to resume language more directly with his deputies. “It wouldn’t be absurd for the president to talk to us,” slips a young elected. “When is he going to get us together? echoes a former minister impatiently.

To his questions, the Elysée answers… that you have to be patient. There is a heavy international context which occupies part of the agenda, and the legislative elections took place barely ten days ago. But the deputies will be received, assures the entourage of the Head of State, without advancing a date, but recalling that during the previous mandate, Emmanuel Macron received the parliamentarians on several occasions, “rather at the end of the session”.

The right time, according to a government source, “that’s when he will have answers to give”. There is an image that turns in the executive: that of the plane taking off, which still needs to be stabilized. Hence this sentence from a minister: “The president will see the deputies when he can say: unfasten your seatbelts.”

While waiting to receive the newly elected deputies, Emmanuel Macron treats those who have been beaten. Those around him say that “the instruction was given explicitly and very personally by the president so that each person who has worked alongside him over the past five years does not find himself alone”.

There is no question of allowing the music of a president who is inattentive to the state of mind of his supporters to settle in… Support will be provided at two levels: the En Marche party on the one hand, the group at the National Assembly of the other.

The president of the Aurore Bergé group also made the announcement on Tuesday at a meeting: a collaborator has been appointed to help the deputies who have lost their constituency. Gérald Darmanin, who was at this meeting, had these words: “Yesterday’s losers are potentially tomorrow’s chosen ones” Nothing is wrong in this sentence of the Minister of the Interior. But it is easy to imagine the interpretations to which it gives rise around a dissolution at one time or another of the five-year period which opens.
