The situation on the border between Poland and Belarus is escalating day by day, with Poles accusing Belarusians of voluntarily bringing migrants to the border.
All along the common border between Poland and Belarus, thousands of migrants are crowded. “We want to go to Germany to live there, not in Poland” testifies an Afghan migrant. According to several organizations, including NATO, the images broadcast by Belarusian television are created from scratch. In some images, we see soldiers, weapons in hand, escorting migrants to the border.
400 kilometers long, the border cannot be completely guarded by the Warsaw army. Some migrants attack protections and barbed wire, in order to get to the other side. If arrested, the migrants are sent back to Belarus. In addition, anyone who destroys protective equipment can be prosecuted by the Polish courts. The standoff between the two nations continues, while NGOs and journalists cannot get closer to the field of action.
