This Tuesday, March 22, 2022, the president of the National Rally was on the set of the BFMTV channel to attend the program “La France dans les yeux” broadcast live.
During the program, a general practitioner named Jonathan Favre questioned the candidate and returned to her remarks concerning the vaccination of children against Covid-19. Last January, Marine Le Pen had indeed claimed that this vaccination was a “form of abuse” towards the youngest. While the doctor was trying to prove that vaccinating children would reduce contamination, Marine Le Pen reaffirmed her refusal: “You cannot be totally inconsistent, you cannot tell us that the virus prevents the contamination of others. and explain to us that by vaccinating children, it will prevent the contamination of others” she launched before adding: “As for the figures that you have given, I formally dispute them”.Marine Le Pen in difficulty facing a doctor
An unconvincing answer that she tried to flesh out later by saying: “I am fundamentally against it because in reality, and you must know this because you are a doctor, any vaccine involves some risk. this risk on children who have no risk – except those with comorbidities – then it is to unbalance the benefit/risk balance”.
Determined to make Marine Le Pen listen to reason, Jonathan Favre then explained: “We vaccinate them as we vaccinate children against other diseases, that is to say to avoid transmission, the appearance of new variants, the closure of classes and protect the most fragile” by specifying that vaccines limit the transmission of the virus to 50%.
“You, as a doctor, do what you want, but I, as a mother, will not put my children at risk,” replied the candidate. “They have no risk of developing a serious form of Covid. I’m sorry to say that […] I think a lot of parents are like me” replied Marine Le Pen.
