It’s the end of an era in the world of tennis in Quebec. Eugène Lapierre will leave the management of the National Bank Open in Montreal on Thursday and will be replaced by Valérie Tétreault, Le Journal learned on Wednesday.

Mr. Lapierre, who served as tournament director for 21 years, will remain with the organization for the next two years as a consultant.
Valérie Tétreault, 34, is a former professional tennis player who reached the 112th rank in the world. She was Director of Communications at Tennis Canada for almost 12 years.
