Suspected of being the author of a murder in 2011 at Basel-Mulhouse airport, Karim Ouali is still free and now lives in Hong-Kong. After years without legal action, Nelly Meyer, wife of the victim, decided to make her voice heard.

Hidden from view for many years, Nelly Meyer reveals herself to journalists from France Télévisions. She is the widow of Daniel Meyer, an air traffic controller who was allegedly murdered by Karim Ouali. “I have to come out of the shadows, because justice is not done”, she declares, almost ten years after the death of her husband, on October 27, 2011. Karim Ouali, who had left a manuscript in which he confessed the crime, was not found for years, supposed dead. But recently, his trace has been found on the other side of the world, on the side of Hong Kong.

After having committed his crime, to avenge himself for racist remarks, he fled and sows false leads across France. He flies to Asia forging his passport. The trail of the suspected murderer was found on an online dating site, where he displays his face without hesitation. “I think he feels untouchable”, says Nelly Meyer. Wanted by Europol and despite the issuance of an arrest warrant against him, the foreign authorities do not act, because there is no extradition agreement with France.
