Ten Économuseums in Quebec obtain GreenStep certification

Ten Économusées are among the top 10 tourism companies in Quebec to have obtained GreenStep certification, the largest sustainability recognition program for businesses and tourist destinations in North America.

At the same time, GreenStep Solutions awarded its certification to the Économusée Network Company, making it the first sectoral tourism association to receive such a hat tip.

“In a context of climate change […], it is imperative to act by mobilizing all stakeholders towards the adoption of sustainable practices, explains Carl-Éric Guertin, general director of the Économusée network company, in a press release. As tourist customers are much more informed, aware and demanding, the GreenStep Sustainable Tourism certification strategically positions artisan-entrepreneurs, in addition to demonstrating their commitment to the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of exemplary actions. »

The Canadian organization founded in 2008 evaluates the efforts of companies every two years, according to 87 criteria recognized by the World Sustainable Tourism Council which include in particular the construction of eco-efficient buildings, the development of tourist circuits with local partners or the promotion cycle tourism.
