Ten departments are placed on orange vigilance due to “floods” or “rain-flooding”, Météo-France confirmed in its weather report published at 10 p.m., Monday December 11. The Lot department was placed on orange alert for floods in the evening, joining Charente, Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Corrèze, Dordogne, Deux-Sèvres, Isère, Savoie and Haute on alert. -Savoy.
In detail, in Isère, it is the Isère river which worries the authorities, particularly in Grenoble. In Haute-Savoie, flood vigilance concerns the Giffre downstream and Arve downstream sections. Savoie is on alert for the Isère Haute-Combe section of Savoie, between Chamousset and Albertville. In Gironde, the level of Isle aval is under monitoring. The Dordogne department is on orange alert for the sections of Isle upstream and Vézère downstream. Corrèze is on alert for the section of the Vézère upstream. For Deux-Sèvres, Charente and Charente-Maritime, the risk of flooding concerns the upstream section of the Sèvre Niortaise, according to Vigicrues.
In addition, two departments are on orange alert for rain-flooding : Haute-Savoie and Savoie. Isère is no longer on orange alert for rain-flooding. Météo-France specifies that the “precipitation is well established in the Alps”. “They usually occur as snow above 2 200 to 2 400 meters”adds the organization.
