Ten departments in central-eastern France were placed on Saturday July 15 in orange vigilance for the risk of thunderstorms and the Alpes-Maritimes for a heat wave, according to Météo France, which reports a still very marked heat in the eastern half. from the country.

The departments concerned by storm orange vigilance are Haute-Saône, Doubs, Côte-d’Or, Jura, Saône-et-Loire, Ain, Rhône, Loire, Haute-Loire and Puy de Dome. Thunderstorms that are not widespread but which may be locally strong are expected, with strong electrical activity, short but intense rainfall, wind gusts up to 100 km/h locally and hailstones falling a few centimeters. This stormy passage will turn into more sustained precipitation and will only weaken overnight from Saturday to Sunday, forecasts Météo France.

The Alpes-Maritimes department returned to heat wave orange vigilance overnight from Friday to Saturday, due to very marked heat. Elsewhere, during the morning, the sun will be generous from the east of the Pyrenees towards the PACA region, Corsica, the Alps, the Massif Central to Franche-Comté.
