temperature records for the month of July recorded in particular in Nîmes and Béziers with more than 40 degrees

While several departments are on heatwave orange vigilance, temperature records for the month of July were recorded on Friday July 15 in the south of France, with more than 40 degrees, especially in Nîmes and Béziers, according to Météo France.

In the Aude, in Narbonne, 38.7 degrees were recorded, beating the 37.7 degrees of July 30, 2001. In Leucate, 39.2 degrees displayed on the thermometer, against 37.4 degrees on July 11, 2003. In Lézignan -Corbières, 39 degrees were recorded, against 38.1 degrees on July 31, 2001.

On the Gard side, 40.3 degrees were recorded at the Nîmes-Courbessac station, a monthly record, 38.8 degrees was recorded on July 3, 2019. In Garons, south of Nîmes, it was recorded 40, 1 degree, compared to 38.1 degrees on July 7, 1982.

In the Hérault, it was raised to 40.4 degrees at the Béziers-Vias station. The previous record dated July 11, 2003 with 38.5 degrees. It is even a new absolute record beating 39.7 degrees in June 2019, according to the Keraunos observatory. In Murviel-lès-Béziers, 38.8 degrees recorded, against 38 degrees on July 31, 2001.

In the Pyrénées-Orientales, in Vives, the thermometer showed 39.3 degrees, the previous record was 37.8 degrees on July 26, 2013. Finally, in the Var 35.6 degrees were recorded at Castelet, against 35, 2 degrees on July 31, 2017.
