The novelty : shoresy
No need to watch Letterkenny to enjoy this spin-off series (spin off) of six 30-minute episodes. As its title suggests, shoresy revolves around the character that actor, creator and screenwriter Jared Keeso voiced in the original. It’s about a rough and slobbery — but decidedly hilarious — hockey player who joins the Sudbury Bulldogs, a senior league team in northern Ontario, with the goal of winning all their games. Since it’s an English-Canadian comedy about hockey, the nods to Quebec are inevitable. In the second episode, at the end of a memorable scene, you will also see Maxim Roy, Karine Vanasse, Catherine St-Laurent, Charlotte Cardin and Sarah-Maude Beauchesne…

The safe bet: Sell or renovate in Quebec
Yes, the heavily staged “conflicts” are royally annoying. We would often want to tell the producers of the show to drop these useless and badly played sketches which seem to come out of a bad soap afternoon. Nevertheless, we remain faithful to the Quebec edition of Love it or List it, mainly because we continue to admire designer Daniel Corbin’s transformations (each of whose kitchens include a large central island) and because we like to see real estate broker Maïka Desnoyers struggle to meet — sometimes unrealistic — expectations. some participants. “A double garage, an inground pool, three bedrooms on the second floor, a quiet neighborhood less than half an hour from downtown Montreal… All for less than $500,000 please. »

The roll of the dice: Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special
Quebec-born comedian Norm Macdonald died last September of cancer that he had kept secret since his diagnosis in 2012. Before dying, the former member of Saturday Night Live recorded, in his living room, a stand-up that he was never able to present in theaters due to a certain pandemic of COVID-19. This final hour-long monologue, which he delivered all at once, is accompanied by a segment in which Adam Sandler, Conan O’Brien, Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, David Spade and Molly Shannon share their McDonald’s memorabilia.

The high mass of Quebec cinema comes to close the 2021-2022 season of award ceremonies. Note: the ceremony will be preceded, as in the pre-COVID era, by a special red carpet broadcast. This half-hour meeting will be hosted by Isabelle Racicot and Tatiana Polevoy. The pair will also pilot a post-gala show on ICI ARTV around 10 p.m., which will be broadcast on ICI Télé after the Newscast.
