The essential
Loto-Meno
This documentary series by Véronique Cloutier generated a lot of reactions last summer, after it landed on ICI Tou.tv Extra. We bet that it will provoke others this week, since Radio-Canada presents its three episodes in a rush. Winner of the Useful TV Moment award at the most recent Zapettes gala, Loto-Meno attempts to debunk the myth surrounding menopause. The host broaches the subject frankly, in the company of public figures (Marie-Soleil Michon, Hélène Bourgeois Leclerc) and experts (Dres Sylvie Demers and Lyne Desautels). And from the strong impression that Loto-Meno has left with the (many) women who have watched it, it is certainly a must-have.

She said yes
We really like Julie Ringuette, the actress. She was without a doubt the strong point ofA family bond, the adaptation of Nadine Bismuth’s novel that can be seen on ICI Tou.tv’s Extra. In the hands of a less gifted actress, her desperate bachelor persona would have been nothing but a succession of clichés. We also like Julie Ringuette, the host. In command ofShe said yes, a talk show that highlights the marriages of Quebec personalities, it also adopts the good tone, sympathetic, but never gnangnan. In this second season, she notably receives Ingrid Falaise, Salomé Corbo, Guylaine Guay, Stéphane Fallu and Brigitte Lafleur.

The return
Transplanted
After an extended hiatus due to a certain pandemic, the English-Canadian medical drama returned to air on Noovo in French in early March. Didn’t you take the time to take a look through the horde of series that were in full swing last month? Good news: the first 10 episodes are currently available on Crave. The final three will go live over the next two weeks. This sequel is worth the detour, not only because it allows us to reconnect with Bash (Hamza Haq), Mags (Laurence Lebœuf), June (Ayisha Issa) and company, but also because it marks the passage of several Quebec actors , like Sophie Nélisse (episode 1) and Juliette Gosselin (episode 2). Also note the arrival of Mylène Mackay, who plays the sister of Mags.

The roll of the dice
Severance
Severance (in French, Dissociation) is not necessarily a mainstream series. We’re talking about a sci-fi psychological thriller that tells the story of employees of a large company who choose to undergo surgery that splits their memory in two. As soon as they arrive at work, the chip blocks their personal memories, and as soon as they leave the premises of the company, it blocks those relating to work. Think of Lost, David Lynch version. The rather slow pace of the first episodes will put some people off. But since they’ve all been online since Friday, take the opportunity to slip on a few, just to give Dan Erickson’s work a real chance to pique your interest. Fact to note: a second season has just been started.
