The throw of the dice
The BBQ cut
After The Chiefs !, another culinary competition is being added to the menu this spring. Hosted by Debbie Lynch-White, this Trio Orange production brings together eight recognized chefs, who compete in a duel with the mission of “revamping BBQ classics” to create new and gourmet dishes. All under the watchful eye of Antonin Mousseau-Rivard, judge and chef-owner of the renowned restaurant Le Mousso, in Montreal. According to the trailer, we can expect a lot of noise, an open-air film set (a downpour will disrupt one of the face-to-face meetings), varied dishes (not just grilled pieces of meat) and some final judgments.
Zeste, starting Thursday at 8 p.m. (the channel will be unblocked from May 16 to June 13)

The Idea of You
Inspired by the bestselling novel of the same title by Robinne Lee, this romantic comedy follows the same pattern as a classic of the genre from the 1990s, Notting Hill, with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. Two people fall in love. One is famous, the other not. Except that this time, the world-famous star is the man, a 24-year-old singer, member of a popular boy band, who falls in love with a divorced mother who has just celebrated her 40th birthday. The scenario offers no surprises. We could have outlined its broad outlines before watching a single second of the film. But fortunately, there is chemistry between Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.

The novelty
My abandoned house
The actress Sophie Bourgeois, who we saw in THAT And The escape, loves renovation projects. This eight-episode series documents his fifth project: renovating an abandoned house on stilts, located in the middle of nowhere, with a roof infested with raccoon droppings. In other words, retype a shack. After watching the first half hour, we understand why the actress fears being “masochistic”. His property in the Laurentians falls into ruin. The road promises to be long and winding (the start of the work has been postponed a few times), but we remain curious to know the final result. A Trio Orange production (Every second counts) produced by Sébastien Chabot (All in the garden, VIP design).
