Tele-radar | Our suggestions of the week

Every week, The Press scans the TV offer to identify four titles to watch.

The roll of the dice

Immutable Marie-Mai

Discovered in 2003 in Star AcademyMarie-Mai underlines her 20-year career with this one-hour special, half-concert, half-music video, during which she revisits her great successes, including Lie. The singer-songwriter will take the opportunity to unveil two new songs, including a punchy pop track titled For you, which she signed with Jaymie and Max-Antoine Gendron. According to information from the broadcaster, Immutable will be divided into three segments: a return to rock roots, an “intimate and introspective” portion in black and white and a “glamorous pop” finale featuring several meticulously choreographed dance numbers. Derek Branscombe (Milk & Bone, Braids) ensures the realization of the appointment.

Télé-Québec, Saturday, at 9 p.m.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us

Diving into a post-apocalyptic series as we painfully extricate ourselves from a global pandemic may not be the idea of the century. The first episodes, which show how a mysterious mushroom has decimated humanity, can cause mini-panic attacks. Fortunately, The Last of Us is much more than just another zombie drama. And for those who fear that a series inspired by a hit video game has nothing more to offer than a succession of action scenes, think again. Empty calories are rare in this novelty from the HBO network, which seeks more to touch the viewer than to scare him with great blows of infected attacks. It is not for nothing that she wins, week after week, viewers.

The Weeknd: Live at SoFi Stadium

The Weeknd: Live at SoFi Stadium

This capture of a show by the Canadian singer delivered last fall at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles promises to be visually impressive. At least that’s what we remember by watching the trailer for the event. Dancers, lasers, pyrotechnic effects, a stage that crosses a gigantic floor, a setting that looks like a science fiction blockbuster… With this performance, The Weeknd could make us forget his previous television special: his chaotic performance of 55e Super Bowl, in 2021. Among the successes on the 95-minute concert program: starboy, Blinding Lights, I Feel it Coming And Can’t Feel My Face.
