Documentary: New faces

Directed by Brian Desgagné and Christine Doyon, this eight-episode documentary series plunges us into the world of the Humankind modeling agency. Led by Marikym Hervieux and Claudine de Repentigny, this Montreal company promotes diversity (corporal and cultural) and inclusivity. Fashion has never been a super healthy industry, but when you watch this series, you feel that there is hope. Particularly when we hear the discourse of the tandem at the controls, which is looking for models that do not fit into any mold. If you are looking for a series with lots of drama and skirmishes, New faces is not for you. We are far fromAmerica’s Next Top Model. And it’s very good like that.

The novelty : To write)

Author Marc Brunet

Produced in partnership with the National School of Humor, this web series gives voice to comedy writers. In each episode, a screenwriter retraces his professional career, alone in front of the camera, for about twenty minutes. Big names like Martin Matte (The beautiful discomforts), Guy A. Lepage (A boy a girl) and Isabelle Langlois (Let go) lend themselves to the exercise with great generosity. Guest of the first episode, Marc Brunet revisits his successes (Adults and vaccinated, The heart has its reasons, like me) and Virus, the worst failure of his career. This talk show hosted by François Massicotte and Mike Bossy lasted only one season on TVA, in 1993. “It’s a benchmark for a very, very bad comedy show,” Brunet confesses to the camera.

The roll of the dice: Harlequin Collection – At Christmas my prince will come

BRAIN POWER STUDIO

Harlequin Collection – At Christmas my prince will come

No, it’s not a copy-paste of a TV suggestion from last December. For the third year in a row, the specialist channel ELLE Fictions is offering special Christmas programming in July, during which it broadcasts films with a strong smell of fir every evening. A total of 88 feature films filled with good feelings will be presented. It starts with Harlequin Collection – At Christmas my prince will come, which tells the story of a pediatrician who falls in love with a foreign prince who fractured his leg while skiing. Note: the rest will be presented on Tuesday. It marks the arrival of a new character, Princess Miranda. Love triangle in sight!

ELLE Fictions, Monday at 8 p.m.
