CAQ leader François Legault made the announcement Monday in Châteauguay during a meeting with teenagers who are studying at Heritage College.

While questioning the students about the programs they listen to, Mr. Legault said he was not surprised to learn that many of them mainly consumed content on YouTube or other foreign digital platforms.

“I think it’s important to offer young people entertaining content, at the same time a little educational, a balance, it has to be fun as they say,” said Mr. Legault.

The investment of 65 million in youth creation for Télé-Québec should allow the state corporation to add “100 new hours intended for children aged 3 to 12 each year” over four years, announced the CAQ.

“We want it to be filmed in Châteauguay, in the regions of Quebec, on the ground, to show the reality of young people here,” said the head of the CAQ.

In recent years, the Government of Quebec has invested in Télé-Québec to enable it to develop a web platform for broadcasting its content. The last budget provided, among other things, 6 million over three years to continue the digital shift.
