teenagers made aware of the dangers of motorized two-wheelers

This happens all week in Soultz, in the Haut-Rhin: a road education track is set up thanks to the CRS and the Assurance Prévention association.

She permits 14-year-olds to learn how to drive motorized two-wheelers for free. There are scooters, but also small 50 cm3.

Adopt the right reflexes for the first scooter

This is a first approach to piloting for teenagers. They start with the discovery of the machine, we explain to them how to change gears, accelerate. They then equip themselves with jackets and gloves.

They are accompanied for their first lap by an instructor, then they can evolve freely on a secure track.

“We emphasize above all the maneuverability of the bike. You have to master the machine well. You also have to be well equipped. It is better to teach the right reflexes from the age of 14, so as not to have bad habits later on,” explain Chief Brigadier Pascal Sanchez, of the road education track.

21% of people killed on the road are two-wheelers in the Haut-Rhin

Advice that must be invaluable for these young people who will soon have their own scooter and will be left to their own devices on the road. You should know that in the Haut-Rhin on road accidents in 2019, 21% of people killed are on two wheels, it is a little less than the national average which is 23%, but there is a real danger.
