LastPass

LASTPASS SERVICE SCREENSHOT

LastPass has minimized the risk of data theft, as the service lacks master passwords that would take “millions of years” to crack.

Thunderbolt just before Christmas for the 30 million users of the LastPass password manager: all the precious virtual vaults of their customers were stolen last August. Although LastPass minimizes the risks, the service does not have the main passwords which would take “millions of years” to crack, the company is denounced from all sides. What to do ? Change the main password of LastPass and those of the most sensitive sites, agree at least the experts. The ideal is to renew everything, a tedious exercise that we have undertaken. It’s also tempting to drop LastPass, but there’s no guarantee that the next pick won’t fall in battle too.

Video game

After experiencing a prosperous first year of the pandemic, the video game industry is disoriented. Since March 2021, according to a compilation of the CasinosEnLigne site, we would have lost 176 million players. However, industry revenues are up (modest) 5%, the lowest in five years, to $208.6 billion. In terms of market cap, the worst performer is Roblox, which was worth $37.1 billion in March 2021 and suffered a thaw that lost 53% of its value. The French giant Ubisoft, whose most important studio is in Montreal, is not very far in second position, with a capitalization loss of 52%, followed by Nintendo at 25%. Xbox Games Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment are not listed on the stock exchange.

PS5

Two French repairers have reported a few cases where keeping a PS5 upright, even if it hasn’t been unboxed, could damage it, due to leaking coolant.

Owners of the brand new PS5 – for which Sony announced the end of the shortage at CES 2023 – were treated to a curious alert last weekend. Two French repairers have reported a few cases where keeping a PS5 upright, even if it hasn’t been unboxed, could damage it, due to leaking coolant. The site that launched the information that went viral, Wololo, subsequently partially retracted, speaking instead of “PS5 that had been opened (with a screwdriver)”. Many players shouted misinformation and Wololo was accused of posting a “clickbait”. Sony did not react.
