After Hive last November, Insteon’s turn to cease operations, this time without warning. What to do with all those hubs, modules and bulbs now useless and purchased at great expense? It is theoretically possible to bring them back to life with a platform called Home Assistance, which allows you to set up your own server. We tried it: the complex installation procedure took us a good two hours and then monopolizes a computer that must remain on at all times. Forget ordering away from home or with voice assistants, unless you have a $6.95 per month subscription. But it works.

Don’t look for big news in the 2022 edition of MLB The Show, which simply digs its groove as the most accomplished baseball video game. Except this year, for the first time, all consoles are invited to the party for this PlayStation exclusive since 2006, which launched a version for Xbox last year and for Nintendo Switch this year. On the menu: possible saves between platforms, an AI that adapts to your strength, more polished graphics than ever for the versions for next-generation consoles, with the return of baseball legends in the Diamond Dynasty mode, a mini-season of 28 matches and the ability to create your own stadiums and players.

In four years, the number of apps on the Google Play Store has gone from a peak of 3.6 million in 2018 to 2.6 million last March. This decrease at Google corresponds to an announced desire to eliminate all malicious or poorly designed applications that violate user policies.
The housekeeping in the Google Play Store is obviously radical. A specialized American site, Trading Platforms, has published the results of an analysis which shows that Google’s virtual store has lost more than 1 million applications for Android in four years, going from a peak of 3.6 million in 2018 to 2.6 last March. This brings us closer to the total of Apple’s App Store, estimated at 2.3 million, while the Amazon App Store has only 500,000. This drop at Google corresponds to an announced desire to eliminate all malicious or poorly designed applications that violate the usage policies. Their proliferation was considered one of the greatest weaknesses of the Android ecosystem.
