At a time when vaccination against COVID-19 is accelerating in the face of the rise of the Omicron variant, many Quebecers are having problems making an appointment on the Clic Santé platform due to technical problems that the Ministry of Health s case to be solved.
Several Internet users complained on social networks on Friday that they have been trying for several days to make an appointment on the Clic Santé site, in vain. In many cases, the platform would not recognize their health insurance number or even their telephone number. Quebecers in this situation must then turn to the telephone appointment service, where the wait can stretch over several tens of minutes.
“Impossible for me to make an appointment for the third vaccine with ClicSanté. The site does not recognize me, ”lamented a surfer on Twitter on Friday. “It should come as no surprise that people don’t get vaccinated. It’s discouraging, ”wrote another user, after a long wait on the phone.
Contacted by The duty Friday, the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) confirmed the existence of these technical problems.
“The supplier Clic Santé and the MSSS have been seized of the situation and confirm that certain people in all regions of Quebec seem to have identification problems for making appointments”, indicated by email the spokesperson of the MSSS, Marie-Louise Harvey. Work is thus “in progress” to resolve this technical issue.
“In the meantime, those who encounter problems with the platform, and who want to make or move up their appointment, can do so by telephone, but some waiting times are to be expected,” added the spokesperson.
This situation occurs at a time when the Government of Quebec is accelerating the vaccination schedule for the booster dose of the vaccine against COVID-19. 18-year-old Quebecers can also make an appointment for it since Friday.
The Quebec government has also indicated that people with COVID-19 will be able to make an appointment for a third dose as soon as their symptoms end. The booster dose thus becomes available to all adults in the province.
