Teachers’ unions, FSU-SNUipp, CGT éducation and Sud éducation, are planning a day of strike action in nursery and primary schools on Tuesday, September 10, against the generalization of assessments in all primary school classes, franceinfo learned on Monday, August 26, during a press conference by the FSU-SNUipp. The three unions are calling on primary school teachers not to administer these assessments.

The FSU-SNUipp is demanding that these assessments be freely administered and is denouncing their mandatory nature. According to the union, these tests are a source of stress for teachers, students and their parents. They standardise practices, limit teachers’ pedagogical freedom and do nothing to resolve students’ difficulties, denounces the FSU-SNUipp.
