National education: teachers demonstrated against college reform

Teachers were called to strike again on Tuesday February 6. They defended public schools and protested against middle school reform.
Amelie Oudéa-Castéra is in the hot seat, the retention of the Minister of Education is on everyone’s mind in the procession. But Tuesday February 6, teachers marched towards rue de Grenelle with several reforms in their sights. The one that crystallizes anger is the clash of knowledge desired by Gabriel Attal with middle school level groups. The unions are also up in arms against the reform of the vocational high school. Concretely, final year students will have the choice between traditional courses and company internships.
They ask for more resources
According to some professors, efforts must be concentrated on means. “Every year we find ourselves having fewer and fewer resources and more and more overcrowded classes”, estimates Vincent Guillaume, professor. And in the midst of a reshuffle, teachers are also calling for a fully functioning Ministry of Education.
