In addition to its glamorous side, Saint-Tropez (Var) is also known for its tarte tropézienne. It was Brigitte Bardot who made it famous 70 years ago, when she took part in the filming of the movie “And God Created Woman” in the village.
Saint-Tropez (Var) is known for its glamorous, flashy and sexy side. But for 70 years, the village of the Côte d’Azur has been hiding a treasure all in brioche and cream: a world-famous tropézienne. In 1955, on the port of Saint-Tropez, Brigitte Bardot shot the film And God… created woman. A gourmand, the actress falls for a cake bought at the village bakery, at Alexandre Micka. It was “BB” who made the Tropezian tart famous 70 years ago.
Today, Sacha Dufrêne, general manager of “La Tarte Tropézienne”, is the guardian of the temple. His father and Alexandre Micka launched the tarte tropézienne. So, he carefully keeps the original recipe in a safe, the one that “BB” loved. A recipe that he prefers to keep secret. Don’t count on Alain and Christophe Roux, pastry chefs from father to son, to make any revelations.
