In Montauban, in Tarn-et-Garonne, 11 retired looking for a place to grow old together. Journalist Valerie Hurtelpresent, Thursday, March 31, on set from 13 Heures tells us more about this type of initiative.

In Montauban (Tarn et Garonne)11 retirees aged 67 to 84 have imagined a life project together. For them, there is no question of aging in a retirement home. “We want to live with the schedules we want, to do what we want when we want. It’s not that at all, in nursing homes“, explains Ginette Pondarasse. Another retiree details their project of living together, which consists of a building where each has their own apartment, and where they meet in a common room.

Due to lack of funding, their project has not yet succeeded, but there is no question of giving up. Two of them are preparing to go to Belgium to visit the habitat of their dreams, in order to be inspired by it. On the 13 Hours set, journalist Valérie Hurtel presents other initiatives of this kind, such as the Internet platform “A shared roof”, which puts in contact seniors looking for a roommate.
