After the departure of his midfielder Bruno Guimaraes to the English championship (in Newcastle), another midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, is doing the opposite. Passed by Lyon between 2017 and 2019, the French international (seven selections) of Tottenham finds a house he knows well. The two clubs made it official on Monday, January 31. After the final transfer of Romain Faivre, this is a paying loan of 1.42 million euros until June 30, specifies the club of Jean-Michel Aulas.
Olympique Lyonnais informs of the arrival of the French international midfielder from Tottenham, Tanguy Ndombele, until June 30, 2022, in the form of a paying loan of €1.42 million, accompanied by a call option #Ndombele2022https://t.co/juJ8ceMYRh

In the summer of 2019, the player trained in Amiens had left OL after 96 games played for the French club. His two seasons had been those of hatching with several capital performances in Ligue 1 which had opened the doors to the Premier League and the France team.
But his time in London (91 games) remains far below initial expectations: Ndombélé had two and a half tumultuous years, during which he never managed to win despite a deceptive status as a starter last season. . His contract runs until 2025.
This lack of regularity was also pointed out by the coach of the Blues, Didier Deschamps, who preferred Adrien Rabiot, Aurélien Tchouameni or Jordan Veretout to him during the last rallies.
‘DD’ said in March that he expected the player “performances that are similar to those achieved with Lyon”. Ten months before the World Cup in Qatar, Ndombélé has therefore the opportunity to recover playing time and seduce the boss of the Blues again.
OL, for their part, hope to see the best face of their environment to move up the rankings in L1 (11th), to snatch qualification for the next Champions League and go far in the Europa League.
