Reinforcements at the Tango! The berruyer club announces the arrival of two new recruits to compensate for the departure of Iliana Rupert, Kristen Mann, Isabelle Yacoubou or Elin Eldebrink. And these are shock recruits who will land in Bourges next season!
Kayla Alexander returns to Bourges
Five years after leaving Bourges, Kayla Alexander will return to the Berry club at the start of the school year. The 31-year-old Canadian leaves the Lyon club ASVEL, with which she played in the play-off finals brilliantly won by the Berruyères in early June. She had also distinguished herself during these meetings. With her Lyon club, she averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds.
“Very skilful near the circle, intense on the rebound and able to dissuade her opponents, Kayla Alexander should be the anchor of the Tango Bourges Basket racket version 2022-2023”, rejoices the club on its site. Before moving to Bourges during the 2016-2017 season, the Canadian interior had spent several years in the Russian championship. She also played with four American clubs in the WNBA.
Ornella Bakolé, in the 5 major of the LFB this season
At 24, the young woman has just been named in the 5 major of the Women’s Basketball League this season. Born in Auxerre, this winger trained at INSEP went through Calais and Lattes Montpellier. She then joined the Roche Vendée club where she spent two years, and where she was named the team’s top scorer (15 points per game) and best rebounder (6 per game) this season.
French international and great friend of Alix Duchet, Ornella Bankolé is a specialist in one-on-one, outside shooting. “She brings speed to the wingsexplains the berruyer club. Another major asset for next season”.
