Tampa Bay Lightning | Steven Stamkos scores his 500th career goal

(Vancouver) Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos scored a 500e goal in the National League, Wednesday.


The 32-year-old center grabbed a nice pass from Alex Killorn before beating Spencer Martin with a backhand at 4:40 in the first period against the Vancouver Canucks.

The other two active players to have reached 500 goals are Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby.

Chosen first overall by the Lightning in 2008, Stamkos has never worn another uniform.

He has 1022 points in 965 regular season games.

The athlete from Markham, Ontario helped Tampa Bay win the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021.

Stamkos also won the Maurice-Richard trophy as the circuit’s top scorer in 2010 and 2012.
