(Tampa) Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev will be sidelined indefinitely.
Sergachev underwent surgery Thursday to stabilize his fractured tibia and fibula in his left leg.
The Lightning said there was no specific timetable for the 25-year-old defenseman’s return to play.
Sergachev was injured during the second period of a 3-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Wednesday night. The Russian left the ice on a stretcher after his leg bent strangely following contact with forward Alexis Lafrenière.
Sergachev was playing his first game since December, after missing 17 games with a leg injury.
