(Tampa) Tampa Bay Lightning star center Brayden Point is expected to be off for four to six weeks with an upper-body injury.
Two-time Stanley Cup champion Lightning announced ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Point appeared to injure his shoulder or left arm when he fell against the boards after being tripped on Saturday night in the third period of a 5-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
Point has led the NHL scoring column with 14 goals in the last series. It was the second year in a row that he was the NHL’s leading scorer in the playoffs.
Tampa Bay right winger Nikita Kucherov missed his 15e game on Tuesday due to a lower body injury and did not resume skating. He should be missing another four to six weeks.
Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak missed his sixth game with an upper-body injury, but took part in Tuesday morning practice.
