France Bleu Pays d’Auvergne and the Allier Departmental Hiking Committee have prepared an exceptional hike for you.
See you this Sunday, September 11 from the Esplanade Grande rue, Parking Grande rue in Charroux for two routes to choose from:
- From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.: Route 12.5 km with a height difference of 260m, medium difficulty
This route crosses the plain to join a wood and descend to the edge of the very shady Sioule then return.
- From 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: 7 km route (variant between benchmarks 3 and 7), easy
This discovery trail crosses the plain and then allows you to take time to stroll through the medieval village of Charroux.
These two routes will run along the Moulin Parrault and the Château de la Petite-Varenne and will also offer several viewpoints: Puy de Montoncel, the Varennes hill, Puy de Dôme, Charroux plateau.
