In 2019, the director of the Montpellier Opera contacted Alain Chamfort to offer him reinterpret his songs alongside the Orchester Montpellier Occitanie. Alain Chamfort accepts to take up the challenge with enthusiasm and surrounds himself with Nobuyuki Nakajima, a Japanese composer who has already rearranged Jane Birkin’s album “Birkin/Gainsbourg: Le Symphonique”.
But a year later, when the artist was ready to perform his new symphonic versions, he was forced to cancel his concert following the announcement of the second confinement in France. The Montpellier Opera finally decides to maintain the planned recording but without an audience.
After this performance Alain Chamfort decides to make a symphonic albumunder the direction of Jean-Matthieu Poitevin and Hubert Salou.
The singer will perform the new versions of his songs during a symphonic tour during the year 2022. A series of concerts starting at the Grand Rex in Paris on March 11. He will then be in Rennes on June 2, in Vannes on June 3 and in Macon on July 9.
