The Miss France universe continues to unleash passions. Last December for the first time, the candidates for the election signed a work contract. Indeed, they were all paid to participate in the event won by Diane Leyre. As reported The Parisian, the participants received a salary as “figures”… And not as “employees” temporary. “We were paid 84 euros a day, or 252 euros net in all. The equivalent of the minimum wage. It’s really symbolic”, confided a Miss who wished to remain anonymous. “We should already have a work contract from the preparatory trip”, regretted another. “We record lots of sequences there for the show, and we do photo shoots that are sold very expensively to magazines, sometimes from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m..”
This Tuesday, February 1, 2022, Sylvie Tellier raised the subject on the set of C to you. The opportunity for her to restore her truth. “They were paid minimum wage. Be careful not to devalue people who are paid minimum wage, because there are a lot of them”, assured the ex-protégé of Geneviève de Fontenay. “I think we don’t do Miss France for the salary. In another sequence, Sylvie Tellier praised the merits of this remuneration. “Today she has allowed young women to be paid for two days. Before, that didn’t exist. So it’s a plus for her. But we don’t come here for the money”, added the ex-beauty queen. A point of view shared by Diane Leyre – also present on the show. “Miss France is a dream. Does a dream have a price? No. Does receiving so much love have a price? Not either. Personally, I haven’t even looked at the remuneration , it didn’t change anything, that wasn’t the goal (…) I’m not going to complain about what I get, it’s just more”, analyzed the pretty brunette with philosophy.
