Swimming pools open for free in the metropolis of Aix-Marseille

To cope with the heat, the metropolis of Aix-Marseille opens access to its swimming pools. In all, fourteen swimming pools are free for more than three weeks, from this Friday, July 22, and until August 15:

  • Le Puy Sainte Réparade: Jean-Pierre Moré swimming pool
  • Pertuis: Durance Luberon swimming pool
  • Venelles: Sainte-Victoire swimming pool
  • Aix-en-Provence: Yves Blanc swimming pool
  • Les Milles: Claude Bollet swimming pool
  • Fuveau: Virginie Dedieu swimming pool
  • Bouc-Bel-Air: Swimming pool Guy
  • Gardanne
  • Trets
  • Les Pennes Mirabeau: Jas de Rhode swimming pool
  • Vitrolles: Alex Jany swimming pool
  • Cassis
  • Berre l’Etang

To face the heat and drought, other measures are taken more specifically by the city of Aix-en-Provence. The mayor, Sophie Joissains announces the closure of non-potable fountains in the town, to limit water consumption. on the other hand, the aquatic play areas for children remain open.

Thursday, Météo France placed the Bouches-du-Rhône in orange vigilance because of the heat wave. It was up to 38.2°C in Aix-en-Provence
