He has been training every day for a year with South America as his horizon. TOMember of the 4 members, Théo Curin will swim across Lake Titicaca. A crossing of 122 kilometers that he will do in relay with two other athletes. November 2 is the big departure for Bolivia and the pressure is slowly starting to build. “We trained for a year and a half, but we do not know the outcome of this expedition. There is some uncertainty, unlike in classic competition. It freaks out, but that’s also what makes it exciting “, underlines the 21-year-old swimmer.

The majestic Lake Titicaca offers extreme conditions. At 3,800 meters, oxygen will be lacking and at night, the temperature will oscillate between 0 ° C and -5 ° C. Above all, the three adventure comrades will have to tretracting a 500 kg raft, their home, during their expedition. Theo Curin has already known 1000 lives at age 21. At the age of six, he contracted devastating meningitis. To survive, he must have all four arms amputated. Since then, the young man has been guided by the constant desire to exceed, without limit. In 2020, he became the first four limb amputee to complete a half Ironman: a course of 2 km of swimming, 90 km by bike and 20 km of wheelchair racing. With Bolivia, Théo Curin sets himself a new challenge.
