Four opponents, two places in the final. Who will succeed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Barbora Krejcikova, finalists of the previous edition of Roland-Garros? The two semi-finals of the women’s draw will be the highlight of the day on Thursday 2 June.

The first clash of the day pitted Iga Swiatek against Daria Kasatkina. The world No. 1 won a 34th consecutive victory on the circuit by winning 6-2, 6-1 in 1h04.

The other semi-final of the ladies table is more unexpected. The young American Coco Gauff (18), seeded No. 18 and impressive in all her matches, faces the surprise Italian Martina Trevisan, 59th player in the world, who fell for Leylah Fernandez in the quarter-finals. Before 2022, neither player had ever been so close to a Grand Slam final.

In the junior competition, on the boys’ side, Gabriel Debru, the only Frenchman still in the running, won his quarter-final against the Slovak Peter Benjamin Privera (6-1, 6-2). The 16-year-old from Grenoble, by his status as seeded n°16, joins the last four and will face Dino Prizmic or Daniel Merida Aguilar.
