Suzanne Guèvremont becomes the 17e Government Film Commissioner of the National Film Board of Canada.
It was Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage, who made the announcement of this appointment.
Suzanne Guèvremont succeeds Claude Joli-Coeur, who had been director of the NFB for nine years. Since 1999, she was director of the School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design of Montreal, which trains emerging professionals in the fields of 3D animation, television and film post-production, video games, as well as than virtual reality.
Among her other commitments, Suzanne Guèvremont was also vice-president of the board of directors of the Society for the Development of Cultural Enterprises (SODEC).
His term at the NFB will be for five years.
