Introduction to the MEDION X41 SW+
MEDION has made a name for itself by offering affordable tech products that deliver impressive performance without breaking the bank. The latest addition to their lineup is the X41 SW+, a vacuum and mop robot equipped with laser navigation, app control, and an automatic dust collection station. But how does this robot fare in everyday cleaning tasks? In this review, we explore the features, navigation capabilities, and overall cleaning efficiency of the MEDION X41 SW+.
Design and Key Features
The MEDION X41 SW+ boasts a sleek and minimalist design, featuring an all-white exterior. With a height of just 9.8 cm, this robot can easily slide under most furniture, making it a practical choice for modern homes. Additionally, the dust collection station is compact, avoiding the bulkiness found in many competitor models.
Upon unboxing, you’ll find that the MEDION X41 SW+ comes with sustainable packaging. The base plate is wrapped in paper, and the absence of plastic is a refreshing change. Notably, the robot itself is encased in a reusable jute bag, showcasing MEDION’s commitment to eco-friendliness.
The setup process for the X41 SW+ is straightforward and quick. After placing the dust collection station and placing the robot on it, simply download the MEDION Life+ app. A quick click on ‘Add Device’ allows the robot to connect to your Wi-Fi in mere seconds, making it one of the fastest setups we’ve encountered.
Navigation and Cleaning Performance
Once set up, the app suggests that you map your living space. With your approval, the robot begins to navigate its surroundings, systematically covering each room and creating a detailed map. The navigation system is robust and dependable, effectively avoiding obstacles and preventing collisions with furniture.
Equipped with additional sensors, the robot can navigate complex layouts without getting trapped. The mapping process takes just over 30 minutes, after which the robot is ready for its first cleaning session. However, we decided to postpone this until the robot was fully charged.
In our cleaning tests, the fully charged X41 SW+ tackled three categories:1. Vacuuming solid dirt on hard floors2. Mopping wet dirt on tiles3. Vacuuming solid dirt on carpets
Overall, the MEDION X41 SW+ impresses with its cleaning capabilities, especially given its budget-friendly price. On hard surfaces, it excels at picking up nearly all dirt, including larger debris like Fruit Loops. While mopping, it effectively removes stains, although some light streaks may remain due to a lack of additional pressure. On carpets, the robot performs well, though fine dirt embedded in fibers can occasionally be challenging to extract. In summary, the X41 SW+ delivers remarkable performance, especially for its affordable price tag.
