A suspicious fire was brought under control in a vehicle parked in a private driveway in Montreal-North on Sunday. This is the second possible arson in the metropolis on the same day.
A 9-1-1 call was made around 10:45 a.m. Sunday morning. A burning vehicle had been spotted in an entrance on boulevard Gouin, near avenue Plaza, in the borough of Montreal-Nord, in Montreal. The vehicle was located under a carport. Both structures sustained significant damage.
Firefighters brought the flames under control, but discovered several sources of fire. These observations suggest that the fire is suspect and could be criminal.
The investigation was therefore transferred to the arson section of the SPVM. Investigators are on the scene to analyze the scene.
Earlier Sunday, another suspicious fire had been brought under control in the Rosemont-la-Petite-Patrie area, still in Montreal. A person’s body was found there.
