Barely 10 minutes later, another licensed establishment located nearby on Mackay Street, also near Sainte-Catherine Street West, mobilized firefighters.

In both cases, firefighters found traces of accelerating inside the two buildings whose windows were smashed, according to a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The flames were quickly brought under control by SIM firefighters who transferred the investigations to the SPVM arson section. The latter was to dispatch its investigators on the spot during the morning.

The damage caused to the first establishment is minor, but more important for the second business, indicated agent Julien Lévesque of the SPVM, specifying that no one was injured and no arrests were made in the file.
